Waiting is haRd

By

When have you waited for something that felt like would never come?

Have you waited for healing for yourself, for a loved one? Have you waited for love? Waited for the perfect job?

Waiting is hard, we live in a time where we do not have to wait for things, and we always expect the instant microwave magic to happen in all aspects of life.

I know this to be true because I waited for a miracle that I thought never came, it was not until I saw the story through different eyes that I understood fully the magnitude of Gods love.

Ephesians 4:20 Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us,

What? He will do more that I dare to ask. How is that when it often feels like he is not even hearing me?

He hears every word we say, and every tear we cry he holds on to. He never wanted us to feel the pain of losing someone. He never intended for us to hate or kill or even know what those feelings felt like.

His original design for us was for communion and community. For love and friendship. He wanted us to live in a place where we had everything that we needed, and we wanted for nothing.

That plan has NOT changed; he still wants us to have everything! He still wants to give us the world.

You may ask why he wants to give us the world. You may think that you do not deserve the world. You may think, I do not want, nor do I need the World, because his rules are too hard to follow, or they are too strict, or they are stupid. I get it, I was once there as well. In a world that kept telling me how God wanted this and wanted that. How I was supposed to be this or that in order to belong, or fit in or even be accepted.

The Worlds view of Christ is not the TRUE version of who or what he is. You see Christians are HUMAN and they make mistakes, even though they are supposed to be an example of the Love and Life of Christ, we often see the messy, the fallen, because that is what we are looking for.

We are WAITING for them to mess up, for some reason not to do this Jesus thing, for some reason to believe that it is all fake and we have just bought into some cult fake news that just wants us to keep giving all of our money.

What if I told you that I felt this way and God told me I was WRONG! I did not feel like I belonged anywhere. I did not feel safe, I always wanted to run away and hide from everything, but God…. He has good plans for our lives we just have to be willing to let him work it his way.

God gave me a car and told me that I was safe and that I belonged and that he loved me. Crazy right? Too good to believe right? I thought so too, but to this day I still drive the Nissan Armada Platinum edition that he told my pastor to give me, and trust me, she had some questions herself, she paid for this car, she worked hard for this car, many sacrifices made for this car.

Sometimes waiting is hard, and we do not always see what God is doing, but if we knew the whole story the choice would no longer be free to make but it would now be a bribe.

His love was given freely, he was sent here to save us from the grips of sin and death, the father knew what he was doing when he sent Jesus to die. I am pretty sure that if he could have found another way he would have done it. What a sacrifice to give your only son to save the world.

It will not cost you anything to follow the Jesus way, and not let the world get in the way of perfect love.

It will cost you EVERYTHING IF YOU WAIT and refuse to follow the Jesus way. There is nothing that you can do to make him not love you, the only thing that separates us from him is our unwillingness to confess that he is Lord of our Lives and surrender to him what he has already given.

What are you waiting on today? Have you asked the father in Heaven for help? Do you need prayer?
