The what ifs of life are always tugging at our hearts and in the back of our minds, consistently nagging us to self-reflect or self-sabotage. I am no different than you, I have no special superpower that allows me to be immune from the thoughts that drag us down. I do know a secret, and it shouldn’t be a secret that is kept so I want to share with you.

The thoughts in our mind are sometimes not our own. Did you know that Satan cannot control your thoughts, but he can plant seeds of doubt?

In Genesis we can read that in the beginning Adam and Eve walked with God, in the cool of the evening, they had everything that they needed and I am sure that if they had asked for more God would have blessed his children because he is a good father and he wants all that is good for us.

Satan wanted all that was good for himself, Lucifer was created to lead worship in heaven, he had all that was good, and I am sure if he had asked God would have given more, but that was not enough for him, he wanted to be God, to take over and rule.

God kicked him out and took all that was good away, that is what good parents do when a child rebels.

Back to the Garden, so here they are living the blessed life and along comes Satan with his salty attitude because remember he is homeless, and he doesn’t have anything to offer anyone but lies and deceit.

He comes to eve and what does he do, he asks a question “did God really say?” HOLY COW!!!!

God did not tell eve not to eat the fruit, God told Adam, and he was to tell his wife, because the man leads the wife, he is the head of the family, he is the spiritual leader, the one who is to lead her on the path of righteousness.

So old stankin devil does not go to the one who KNOWS what God said he goes to the one who heard it second hand. What a sneaky lyin cheating dirty dog.

So, ole devil had a plan, and he knew what it was, he did not doubt for one minute what was about to go down, God knew what was happening, he is God he knows everything.

God wants his children to do what is RIGHT….man that one hit me in the gut! Just like all moms and dads want their kids to do right and be honest, God is no different. He is a dad, he wanted his kids to say, YES, my dad said I could have whatever I wanted, except this, I cannot touch that because he told me not to. I don’t want to touch it because I love my dad and I want to do whatever he says, because I lack nothing, I have everything I need.

I wish that I could tell you that is what happened, that eve kicked the devil in the face and said Get on out of here ole stinky snake, God did say this and I do not have to listen to your lies, but as we all know Satan planted the seed of doubt in her mind, and she did not go ask Adam if God said, she just took the fruit and she ate it, then she gave it to her husband.

At this moment I feel that Adam had the chance to redeem all of humanity and not doom us to be cursed to have child birthing pains etc. but he is a typical man, and he just took what his wife gave him, and he ate it. I mean, I cannot blame the guy, my husband would pretty much eat whatever I give him and not ask questions 🙂

So, this is how sometimes our thoughts are not our own. Satan uses our thoughts against us, and he can plant seeds of doubt, he cannot control what we think, the thoughts are already there he just uses them to fuel our behavior because he studies us very carefully.

We have to study Gods word, so that we know the truth and we can call every thought that does not line up to the truth of God’s word lie and we hold it accountable to the word of God. What that means is that we can speak to our thoughts just as God spoke the world into existence. If you have thoughts of what if I can’t do this? What if I try and I fail, what if it does not make enough money what if this and what if that, you can say NO! My father says in Jeremiah 29 that I have a hope and a future, his plans are to prosper and not harm, I can do all things through Christ who dwells withing me. I am the head and not the tail, I am a princess or prince of the king of kings the ruler of heaven and earth, he is my father, and I lack nothing. Satan you have no real estate here you are trespassing and you have to leave in the name of Jesus.

He has to leave, he cannot stay! You say what if I fail God says Child what if you FLY!!

Trust God to lead you where he wants you to go, ask him today, who do you want me to encounter today, where do you want me to shine for you. Go out and FLY!!!
